Is the album format dead?

When the iTunes store was launched in 2003 by Apple, the music industry was revitalized. Steve Jobs gave a home for people to buy their music cheaply in a time when music piracy was popular.

Not only did iTunes pave the way for the streaming services that are used today, but the demand by Jobs that each song be sold individually and at .99 cents is believed to lead to the death of the album format.
