The Large Hadron Collider or LHC is a 17-mile-long underground tunnel in Switzerland that hurls protons at each other at incredible speeds. Physicists study the particles that they break apart into. They recently announced the discovery of two new particles hiding inside data collected by the LHC. The research was published on Feb. 10 in the journal Physical Review Letters.
Though the existence of these 2 never-seen before particles was predicted by physicists a few years ago, there was no concrete evidence that they existed until now.
