African Union May Appoint Mugabe as Next Chairman, AFP Reports

(Bloomberg) -- The African Union may appoint Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as it’s next chairman, Agence France-Presse reported, citing diplomats it didn’t identify.

Mugabe is “widely expected” to succeed Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz at the continental bloc’s two-day summit that begins in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Friday, the news agency said.
