Militants stormed an Afghan government compound in a northern city on Thursday, killing a policeman and a prosecutor and wounding 10 other people, a police official said.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh province. The city is one of Afghanistan's most economically stable and relatively developed, and insurgent attacks are rare.
