Adman David Lubars on Tom Waits’s ‘Rain Dogs’

David Lubars, 56, is world-wide chief creative officer of advertising agency BBDO. He spoke to Marc Myers.

When I started out as an advertising copywriter in Los Angeles in 1985, I used to drive to Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard every Tuesday, when albums were released. On Sept. 30, I bought a bunch of LPs, including Tom Waits ’s “Rain Dogs.”
