Nielsen Music released the official first-week sales numbers for the British pop singer’s new single and it was a big one. Digital downloads of “Hello” were purchased more than 1.1 million times in its first week, from Oct. 23 to Oct. 29. This figure makes it the first song to sell more than a million downloads in a single week.
The previous highest one-week total was from rapper Flo Rida, who sold 636,000 downloads of “Right Round” in 2009.
