Is this town big enough for two songs called “Ghost Town”? Adam Lambert is back with the first single from his upcoming album, The Original High (due June 16), and it just so happens to share a title with Madonna’s recent single (she spells it as one word, bless her rebel heart). That’s about where the similarities end, though, as Madonna’s haunting electro-ballad is meant for brooding at home, while Lambert’s house track is more suited for losing your friends and your phone in a crowd of sweaty club-going strangers.

If there’s any comparison to be made, it’s to Hilary Duff’s “Sparks,” which shares Lambert’s fondness for pulsing bass lines, catchy chorus whistles and production from Sweden’s finest hitmakers (Lambert with Max Martin, Duff with Bloodshy).
