The findings are discussed by Reuters and it is revealed that twice the homes in the United States are smoke-free, contrasting the values 20 years back. In the 1990s, around 43% of the homes in the U.S were smoke free and between the years 2010-2011, around 83% of homes were smoke free.
Brian King, the Lead Study Author stated that this vast change is due to a shift in social norms. Nowadays, smoking around non-smokers isn’t seen as a socially acceptable behavior.
