70 Percent of Young European Oncologists Suffer Burnout

Majority of young oncologists in Europe show signs of burnout, and struggle with the demands of their job as per a survey released results released at the annual congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) in Madrid, Spain. 595 oncologists in 41 European countries were surveyed by the group led by consultant medical oncologist Susana Banerjee.

Young doctors suffer the pressure of their job and poor work-life balance has been cited among the major causes of burnout. Other reasons include no being in a relationship, living alone, not having kids, long working hours and lack of holiday time.
