NASA built a tower which cost $349M .They built and closed the tower without using one time in Mississippi.NASA was planning to use it for A3 tests but they didn’t use it and closed without any throw. Also NASA will pay $700000 to this site even per year for maintenance even they don’t use it . The reason why the tower was built was the Constellation program initiated by NASA. The tower would have been used to test the engines of rockets. President Obama already had plans back in 2010 of cancelling this entire project. However, NASA continued with the project and finished its construction. The whole construction of this tower cost them a total of $349 million. The Washington Post claimed that with such a project, NASA has shown that it has failed as a big bureaucracy and has a fading mission. The original estimation that was set by NASA was that the tower would cost them a total of $119 million and the entire project would be complete by the year 2010. However, this did not happen. Even when NASA estimated that the overall cost of the project would increase to $163 million and then eventually $185 million, the organization still did not do anything to cancel the project. Instead, it went on with it. NASA clearly failed with this one, and this failure is not a minor one in any way.
