From 30 stories up, Houston's port is still a sight

Friday morning, the tallest container cranes in the U.S. went into operation on the Houston Ship Channel. From the apex at 290 feet, even on a hazy morning, the view stretches miles down the channel, with refineries and cranes outlined on the horizon. The thousands of containers at the Port Authority's Barbours Cut container terminal below look small.

The new cranes, worth $50 million in total, will allow the Port Authority to handle bigger ships and move containers faster.
