28% of Texas Tenth Graders Admit to 'Sexting'

A new study performed at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston shows that sexting, or sending naked or sexually alluring 'selfies' to another person, has become the modern equivalent of 'getting to first base,' and is the 2014 precursor to sexual activity, Newsradio 1200 WOAI's MIchael Board reports.

Researcher Dr. Jeff Temple says one in four teenagers has admitted to using a cell phone to e-mail a sexy picture, and kids who do so are about seven times more likely to go on to have sexual relations.
