Wildlife officials have been left baffled by the death of 100 birds in the San Francisco Bay Area. The officials have claimed that a mysterious substance was present in the creatures’ feathers. The substance looks similar to rubber cement.

Necropsies were performed on Tuesday, but the results will not be available until later this week, said California Department of Fish and Wildlife spokesman Andrew Hughan.
